"street loose" is a series of six paintings, a collaboration with Fabio Bene. I reached out with the concept of my flat line work - to operate as a skeleton that he would sculpt on top of, by adding color ultimately bringing out a singular character. These characters are the people that surround us in Mexico City and San Francisco - products of the cities that come alive through the colorful individuals that inhabit them.
The characters are drawn in a continuous line style to demonstrate the unity of the protestors through literal
form. This collaboration celebrates the spirit of unity in my hometown. Eric Baillies spent forty straight days
shooting the protests and captured many poweful images. Through this collaboration we celebrated the
values of standing up and in place to amplify the voices of those who need it.
